  • Hello, Xanga.  It's been awhile.

I've been [trying to] stay alive lately.  Kim is off in Cleveland for the semester, I'm doing an internship at Sea Lion Studio, and I can't wait until summer.

I guess I'll do sort of a highlight reel?

    - Kim's gone, but I get to see her about every other weekend.  We're getting spoiled though, because we've gotten to see each other every weekend for the past five or six.  Long distance sucks, though.

    - I've signed leases for the next 15 months of my life.  In May I move into an efficiency in Thurstin Manor across the hall from Kim.  In August, I get my one bedroom apartment over on Elm St.

    - Beginning this summer, I'll be getting paid for my work at Sea Lion.  Hello, career.

    - I'm struggling to keep up on all of my projects and stuff.  It doesn't help that most of these in some way involve working around other people's schedules.

    - I went through WBGU-FM DJ training.  I still need to finish my observation hours and aircheck, but the classes are over.  Exam results should be available soon.

    - I was accepted to the internship program at E! out in LA for the summer, but I've turned it down in order to stay here, take summer classes, work at Sea Lion, and be close to Kim.  Hoping I don't end up regretting this one.

    - Kim and I have been together for close to ten months, which makes this the longest relationship of my life (I believe that includes those elementary/middle school relationships that nobody takes seriously, too).  The only thing about the relationship that could make me happier is if she wasn't in Cleveland (but she'll be back soon!)

    - Videobank is starting up again and I'm excited to see it moving.

    - I'm getting my mac this summer (or sooner).  I may even get paid to use it as my work computer (which means they'd have to at least put Final Cut on it, maybe all the CS3 stuff too!)

    - I'm a professional video editor.  Weird.

    - This semester has been the worst semester of my life.  Between classes, work, and not having Kim here...I can't wait until it's all over.

    - I enjoy finding new friends in classes.  I've grown close with a few people from my radio class, and we've become the group to beat as far as radio spots thanks to my knowledge of audio production.  Well, it's not all me, but it makes me feel good nonetheless.

    - I have ECON homework due tomorrow that I should really be doing right now.

OH!  I saw Ben Folds over spring break with Kristin and Co. and actually got to meet Sam and Jared after the show.  Fucking great show, too.

Okay, off to work.  Nice talkin' to you, Xanga.

  • I saw Walk Hard.  I loved it.

I spent the weekend in Michigan.  I hated it.

I see Kim in about a week for New Years.  I'm excited.

Christmas is a day away.  I'm apathetic.

I should write in this.  Perhaps tomorrow?

You know, I don't really like Thanksgiving.  It's a boring holiday.  I'd rather it be boring than an annoying extended-family-filled weekend, though.

We already have a tree and stuff up in the apartment.  Tomorrow we're taking a "family" portrait.  Where's a corncob pipe when you need one?

Heat rises?  Bullshit.  I live upstairs and it's freezing like a mother up here while it's nice and toasty downstairs.  Fuckin' A.

Byrdman won Last Comic Standing.  I should have video up on youtube eventually.

Shooting a movie with Emily for TCOM this weekend.  Also, I have a composition due for MUCT 444 by next Friday.  Two short papers on top of that.  It'll be a pain, but then I'll be done.  DONE.

Kim and my six month is on Saturday.  She has preview day, apartment hunting, and dinner plans with Anna.  I have a movie shoot.  Figures, our anniversary being at the end of the semester.

Oh, I hung out with Justine, Clay, Max, Carrie, and Erin over break.  T'were good times, I still need to post the pictures.

Buying recording equipment soon.  Oh boy oh boy!

That should do it.  WAIT.  I haven't shaved in like two or three weeks...should I shave or grow a beard?  Discuss.

I'm not doing much anymore.  I guess that's not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm just kind of existing.

Final composition for MUCT and final project for TCOM...need to get on that.

Human Sexuality test today.  Aww yeah.  Except not.

Didn't move on in Last Comic Standing.  Oh well.  Here's the video of my set:

No, that's not John Lovitz hosting.

Katie's Marker Party went well.  Would have been nice to have some more people (especially those who were here for the party and not to see just one person), but we're improving.  At least we're better than Van Wormer's (who didn't show up) parties?

Kleiman, what was with not showing.  Lame lame lame.

Because apparently I mention her in every post: Kim.

    Blah blah blah

Have you seen some of the recent stuff on Collegehumor?  Be sure to check out "Brohemian Rhapsody" and "The Unaired 1994 pilot of 24."  Good stuff.

I've been buying movies, which is dangerous.  Last week was really bad (once every six months or so I allow myself to buy cheap movies at Wal-Mart.  Don't tell anyone though...it would be hypocritical of me to buy anything there as I HATE WAL-MART!  Did I just say that out loud?  Yeah, I pretty much yelled it.  Right.) as I acquired about 10 movies for around $45 (Big Lots has some cheap movies.  Syriana, Capote/In Cold Blood (2-pack), The Squid and the Whale...just $3-4.  Nice.)  My movie box is definitely overflowing at this point.

    That'll do it.

    Oww, my head hurts.

Went home with Kim this past weekend to celebrate Halloween.  Well, technically Halloween is tomorrow, but trick-or-treating was this weekend.  As were many of the big parties.  Oh well, I didn't have a costume anyways.

Oh yeah, Thursday is our five month.  Holy shit, is that scary.  I mean, don't tell her or anything (she already knows), but I'm freaking the hell out.  Wow.

Turned in my Neil Young paper today...pretty content with how it turned out.

I've been playing guitar and piano more lately, and I think I have Neil to thank.  So thank you, Neil Young.

Barrett and I decided we're going to get an apartment together next year.  I'm hoping for Frazee...we've just both been to busy to really go looking.  Next week, perhaps?

I need to get a bigger box to store my movies.  I'm looking at footlockers right now...any thoughts?

Party over here on the 10th for Katie's birthday.  Hopefully people will come to this one.

Open mic night?  Last comic standing?  Shit.

Horror movies on AMC make the world go 'round.  Our DVR's getting full of them.
